Golden's skaters visit SPOM

olden and his group of newbie skaters arrived at the Skatepark of Memphis (SPOM) around 7:15 where we met Josh , the owner of the the indoor skatepark. We also met Becky and Shannon who are managers of the skatepark. Greg Simmons and his family also came to help teach the youth- thanks guys for showing up!

We brought 4 boards and sets of pads and helmets but with 19 skaters that wouldn't quite cut it. Thankfully Josh and crew managed to get 10 additional boards together and Greg ( from Witnessbmx.com) also provided some extra stuff.

With the kids never having skated ramps , we were not so certain how it all would work out. Clearly that was not an issue, by the end of the night most of the skaters were going down the ramps and some started rotating too-- especially Jamar and Derrick. Becky helped teach Prentey how to skate and she got a lolly-pop (and a new friend) from him as reward for her efforts. All in all it was a blast. Watch out Memphis the next wave of skaters are coming....
